Mr. Devi Datt Kandpal, born in 1959 in Almora, Uttarakhand, is the founding Managing Trustee of the M.R. Foundation. Established in 1993 in memory of his father, the late Sh. Moti Ram Kandpal, the foundation’s Memorandum of Association outlines its mission to promote traditional Indian systems of medicine, including yoga and naturopathy, and to advance education, rural development, health, and other areas.

Mr. Kandpal brings over 37 years of experience in senior finance and administration roles at a prestigious yoga teaching and research institution, as well as an economic research and training institution in Delhi. He has been actively involved in their promotional activities and retired from his career in 2019.

Currently, Mr. Kandpal directs the foundation’s initiatives aimed at addressing pressing local rural issues such as road and water facilities, agriculture, health, and women and youth empowerment in Almora, Uttarakhand. His leadership integrates sustainable development goals (SDGs) into the foundation’s activities to foster holistic community development.
